The heating elements of mica electric heaters are specially designed and manufactured from special gold or white mica called mica electric heating plates/mica heating sheets, where the mica is used as a homogeneous thermal insulator. This mica plate material consists of mica minerals which are infused with high temperature and heat resistant polymers, which allows the mica plate to form a thin high temperature insulator. The mica heater sheet has an etched foil element between the layers that is capable of responding quickly at high temperatures. Mica heaters and mica heating elements can be molded into different geometric plans, which can then be used in more complex installations. Custom mica heating elements are designed specifically for installation applications and are insulated to withstand high temperatures, which makes mica heaters ideal for heating objects such as metal strip heaters, surfaces and even hot plates.
When to use mica heaters or mica heater elements
Mica heaters or mica heater elements may be the right first choice when you need the following functional characteristics of a heater.
Heaters that heat up from a wide temperature range of -150°C to 700°C
heaters that require fast temperature transfer; mica heating plates
that require high power.
electric heaters that can accommodate constrained heating spaces.
planned for clamping or perforated installations.
Electric heaters that require uniform heat dispersion.
